Outreach Program Committees
Volunteers in Mission:
Includes local projects such as
flood recovery, extended trips for flood recovery or building
at camps in places like North Carolina, W.VA, etc.
Service/event projects:
PEP: programs, dinners
and entertainment for special needs adults. Project Linus:
knitting, crocheting, and quilting blankets for babies in
need. Angel Tree: gathering lists of desired Christmas
gifts for local people. SERRV/A Greater Gift: sale of
items from developing countries. IHN (Interfaith
Hospitality Network): hosting homeless families for a weekat
the church - evenings and morning care and feeding. AGM
(Alternative Giving Mart): sale of ornaments to give as token
of a monetary gift to an agency or program such as
Heifer Project, Church Word Service, AIDS prevention in
Africa, immunizations, etc. Special Opportunities:
collecting clothing/shoes, making UMCOR Kits, etc
Missions: Liaison
with Covenant Missionaries and others in service globally;
Support of Haitian mission school and clinic (including trips
to Haiti); Hospital Revitalization of Nyadire UM Hospital in
Zimbabwe.
Hunger: Monthly
collection of food for SHIM (South Hills Interfaith
Ministries); Allegheny/New Hope feeding on the Northside 4
times a year; Fill-A-Truck - collection of food to supply the
local food banks with a full of needed items to carry them
through the summer.

The Leadership Committee

in various committees in the church.

responsible for oversight and maintenance of all CUMC
facilities, including two parsonages.
