Communion and Healing Service The 6:30 PM Wednesday Communion and Healing Service is a 20-30 minute service that includes intercessory prayer, communion, and personal prayers for healing.  This service takes place the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month.  Except for August, when it also takes place on the first Wednesday, August 6th. No child care provided. 

Our Couples Ministry is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual lives and relationships of committed couples by fostering fellowship and Christian service through education. This ministry offers a variety of activities including social outings and community outreach projects. Click here for upcoming couples events.

Game Day at Christ Church! Bring your Scrabble game, cards, or other favorite game to the Otterbein room for Game Days! Thursday morning, August 21 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. RSVP to the church office.

“Blessing of the Book Bags, Backpacks, & Lunch Boxes”: Sunday, August 24, during all three morning  worship services. All students, pre-school through college, are invited to bring their backpack, book bag, or lunch box and receive a special blessing as the school year begins. Parents may bring a photo of their college student if he/she is away at school.

Chancel Choir If you like to sing we’d LOVE to have you join the Chancel Choir this fall. Rehearsals begin Thursday evening, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. (But please come a little early (7:20) so that we have a chance to meet you and get music for you.) There is no audition and we sing a lot of wonderful music, make new friends and have great fun! Taizé The next Taizé Healing Service takes place on Wednesday, September 3rd at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. The Taizé Healing Service at Christ Church consists of beautifully peaceful and spiritually calming prayer songs, silence, meditation, anointing of oils, and prayers for healing and reconciliation. The prayer songs, sung over and over again like a mantra, are often drawn from scripture and sung in different languages. No sermons; no announcements. Candles are the only form of light – symbolic of the light Christ brings into our dark world.

The Taizé Service offers a Sabbath moment refocusing our hearts and minds in the midst of a busy and noisy world. Enjoy the peace our candlelit sanctuary offers, listen to the beauty of simple songs and experience the depth of quiet prayer.

Fall Worship Hours begin on September 7th when Sunday morning worship returns to 9:30, 11 & 11:01 am.

New Member Class Interested in joining Christ Church? The first new member class for the fall will be held on September 14th at 9:30 am in room A105. There will be a mid- week class on the 17th in the Chapel, and the class will join (“Ingathering”) on Sunday, Sept. 21. Please call Carri Reda at the church for details.
