United Methodist Women: One of the largest women’s organizations in the
world, the UMW’s purpose is to know God and, particularly, to
promote the cause of women and children, locally, nationally,
and internationally.
At their bi-monthly general luncheon meetings,
speakers share how and where United Methodist Women can reach
out to help others.
Within the larger unit are six smaller groups,
“Circles,” which meet monthly. Friendships are forged and
strengthened with love and support given abundantly.
Each June, the UMW hosts the Strawberry
Festival, which is their largest mission fundraiser and one of
the church’s major fellowship events.
Moms
Moms home during the day with babies and
preschoolers may feel a sense of isolation. Many have
never had strong church ties. Childcare is provided when the
Moms meet every Tuesday morning
to share, learn and grow.

Small Groups: CBS (Care,
Bible and Service) groups have become an invaluable tool for
building community within Christ Church. These groups meet
once every other week to pray for one another, study scripture
and implement service projects together.
Because
there is also a need for genuine community within the young
adult population, small groups will be offered for those
looking for that type of interaction. Groups meet at various
times throughout the week and in various places. CBS groups
will be formed based on where the individuals are in their
lives - college students, single, married, married with
children, divorced, etc. We’re always on the lookout for
people willing to be leaders as well as members so please let
us know if you feel called to lead.
